The grand opening of Kakolewo Campus was accompanied by a presentation of research works that will be carried out there soon. “This is the campus of the future, it is a place where we will research and I hope to implement modern aviation and space technologies, but not only. The scope of projects managed by our employees is extraordinary ”- emphasized prof. Teofil Jesionowski, the rector of the Poznan University of Technology.

The campus will be a place for the implementation of airport ecological research and air pollution measurements. Laboratory operational tests and operational tests of aircraft will be carried out there. Scientists are also working on a system for monitoring and surveillance of aircraft in space, registration and processing of omnidirectional vision, acquisition of surface features of pavements, research on the autonomy of vehicles and systems, and research in the field of space and satellite communication. A ground satellite communication station and a radio measurement laboratory will be built in Kąkolewo. It will be possible to develop optical observation systems.

The opening ceremony of the Kąkolewo Campus was attended by rectors of universities associated with KRPUT (Conference of Rectors of Polish Technical Universities), government and local authorities, and representatives of various institutions and local businesses.
