THE PROJECT WITH THE SUMY STATE UNIVERSITY AT THE HALFWAY

The project "Strengthening scientific cooperation between the Poznan University of Technology and Sumy State University in the field of mechanical engineering", financed by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange, is being implemented at the Institute of Materials Technology at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.

The project helps Ukrainian scientists do research despite Russian aggression. Moreover, the project aims to develop modern teaching materials to help Ukrainian students study at universities outside Ukraine. Providing scientists from Ukraine with access to training and the opportunity to actively participate in scientific conferences during wartime is equally important.

As part of the project, the "Augmented Reality for Engineering Graphics" book is being developed, which will be published by the Springer publishing house in open access. The manual's innovation lies in using augmented reality models that "revive" the drawings and enable the reader to observe the models in motion. For this purpose, the "AR for Engineering Graphics" application was created, and is available in Google Play and the App Store.

Teaching materials developed as part of the project are consulted with scientists from European university alliance. The involvement of scientists from EUNICE is a guarantee of high quality materials.

Participation in two scientific conferences was also planned. The DSMIE 2023 conference was held in June in Stara Lesna, Slovakia. Thanks to travel grants, five Ukrainian scientists attended the conference. Another five scientists will take part in the ISPEM 2023 conference, which will take place in September in Wrocław. Papers from both conferences will be published in post-conference materials by Springer. The articles are the result of scientific cooperation conducted continuously for over 5 years by employees of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Poznan University of Technology and the Faculty of Technical Systems and Energy Efficient Technologies of Sumy State University.

Training sessions were held in May and June. Effective Problem Solving Methods, Design Thinking, Statistical analysis of scientific research results, Tips for a Better Manuscript, of which 55 certificates of participation were issued. For obvious reasons, all trainings are organized in a hybrid form.

In the further part of the project, it is planned to publish a series of training videos and a dictionary of terms in mechanical engineering in Ukrainian, Polish and English to facilitate Ukrainian students in technical studies at European universities.

The project manager is Justyna Trojanowska, PhD.
