25th Anniversary of the Volantes Soni Choir of the Poznan University of Technology

The event aimed to honour the choir's quarter-century of activity, during which it has gained recognition both nationally and internationally. The concert gathered numerous guests, including representatives of the university authorities, the academic community, and supporters of the choir, becoming an important event in the cultural life of the Poznan University of Technology.

The concert began at 6:00 PM with a welcome address from the host, who introduced the honoured guests present in the hall, including His Magnificence, the Rector of the Poznan University of Technology, prof. Teofil Jesionowski, and the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education prof. Agnieszka Misztal.

Following this, Rector Professor Teofil Jesionowski welcomed the audience again, expressing gratitude for their large turnout at this special event. He gave a particularly warm welcome to the invited special guests, the authorities of the Poznan University of Technology, as well as representatives of other universities in Poznan, emphasizing the importance of academic cooperation and the role of the Volantes Soni Choir in enhancing the university's cultural profile.

During the concert opening, the honorary patrons and media patrons supporting the promotion of the event were also acknowledged.

The Volantes Soni Choir presented a diverse repertoire, including ballads, folk works, classical choral pieces, and, among others, nine sections of Carl Orff's cantata Carmina Burana. A particularly special moment was the world premiere of a composition written specifically for this occasion. The choir was accompanied on stage by Latin American musicians from the Del Ande ensemble, as well as instrumentalists from the Poznan Academy of Music and the Poznan Philharmonic Orchestra.

During the artistic part of the evening, the choir's founder, all former presidents of the choir's board, and choristers with at least 5, 10, and 15 years of service were honoured for their contributions to the development of the choir and their long-standing commitment.

At the end of the artistic part, prof. Teofil Jesionowski and Vice-Rector prof. Agnieszka Misztal once again took the stage to thank the choir for their magnificent performance. Each chorister was presented with symbolic gifts, and the conductor was presented with a commemorative plaque and the Medal of Friends of the Poznan University of Technology, in recognition of the choir's 25 years of activity.

The concert concluded with a joint performance of the ballad "You Raise Me Up" by the choir, alumni, and all the guests present. The host then thanked everyone for their attendance, and the organizers and patrons for their support, and invited everyone to a reception and group photos. Approximately 600 people attended the event, and the concert was held in a beautiful atmosphere of emotion and joy, with hopes for another 25 years of even greater achievements for the choir.
