Another Open Day Behind Us!

On April 15, we opened the doors of over 60 laboratories to visitors — there was something for everyone, including: design, photography, automation, robotics, programming, autonomous systems, structural and construction chemistry, rail vehicles, hybrid drives, internal combustion engines, smart materials, optics, biomechanics, foundry engineering, rapid manufacturing, hydrogen lab, high voltage systems, marketing, biomaterials, electrochemistry, and more.

At the Lecture Center, students could explore the educational offer at faculty booths, and at the admissions booth, they could get detailed information about the recruitment process.

At the same time, faculty presentations and open lectures were held in various lecture halls.

This year, after the official opening of the event by prof. Teofil Jesionowski, Rector of the Poznan University of Technology. The opening lecture was delivered jointly by the Faculty of Engineering Management and the Faculty of Chemical Technology — an Oxford Debate titled: “The belief that recycling is entirely eco-friendly brings more benefits than drawbacks.”

Visitors also had the opportunity to attend the following lectures:

  • “With the brain in hand – about 3D printing in biomedical engineering and medicine” – Dr. Eng. Magdalena Żukowska (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering)
  • “How nature inspires science – how modern materials are created” – Prof. Andrzej Miklaszewski (Faculty of Materials Engineering and Technical Physics)
  • “Numbers don’t lie, but sometimes they fool us” – Dr. Mateusz John and M.Sc. Eng. Marta Kańczurzewska-Staszak (Faculty of Architecture and Engineering Management)
  • “The hydrogen ‘R’evolution in vehicle powertrains” – Prof. Ireneusz Pielecha (Faculty of Civil and Transport Engineering)
  • “Whispers of the system – how to hear elusive data leaks” – Assoc. Prof. Mariusz Żal, PhD, Eng. (Faculty of Computing and Telecommunications)
  • “From horse-drawn wagons to magnetic levitation – the past, present, and future of rail transport in a nutshell” – M.Sc. Eng. Mateusz Jüngst (Faculty of Civil and Transport Engineering)
  • “Discover Women's Perspectives” – Ambassadors of the Girls into Science Program (Faculty of Materials Engineering and Technical Physics)
“Are women more capable than men? Test your perceptual skills” – Dr. Eng. Grzegorz Dahlke and Dr. Eng. Kamil Wróbel.

In the building of the Faculty of Architecture and the Faculty of Engineering Management, faculty members and students from the Faculty of Architecture organized exhibitions, fashion shows, artistic installations, and workshops.
