Doctoral Students of the Faculty of Chemical Technology Win EU Sparks for Climate Competition

Doctoral students from the Faculty of Chemical Technology have achieved another major success!

MSc Eng. Natalia Burlaga, MSc Eng. Oliwia Degórska, and MSc Eng. Adam Grzywaczyk, in collaboration with Branislav Trudić from the University of Belgrade, were among the three winning teams in the EU Sparks for Climate competition, taking the prize in the Cross-Cutting category. They were the only team representing Poland in this prestigious event. Under the slogan “Choose Green, Pack Clean – Go Sustainable with Allium!” they demonstrated how to create a more sustainable future in the field of food packaging.

EU Sparks for Climate is a competition that attracted 74 teams from 22 EU countries and 7 countries associated with the Horizon Europe program. The final competition was held on October 10-11 in Brussels, where participants presented their solutions to a wide audience, including citizens, researchers, innovators, and policymakers. Experts from the EU Mission for Climate Adaptation appreciated the team's innovation and their contribution to the fight against climate change.

On December 10, our doctoral students will attend the awards ceremony in Brussels.

Congratulations to our doctoral students on this outstanding achievement!
