On January 13, 2026, a meeting of the EUNICE AISBL Board was held at the National Center for Research and Development in Brussels, during which strategic decisions were made regarding the future of the European university alliance EUNICE.
The most important outcome of the meeting was the election of the President and Vice-President of the organization, which manages the alliance at the institutional level.
The Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Prof. Mariusz Głąbowski, became the President of EUNICE AISBL, and Prof. Maria Figueiredo from the Instituto Politécnico de Viseu took on the role of Vice-President. The term of office of the new authorities will last until November 2026.
This is an important moment for Poznan University of Technology, confirming the university's active participation in the work of the EUNICE alliance and its role in shaping joint activities of partner universities.
During the meeting, upcoming initiatives were also discussed. The most important of these will take place in May 2026 in Poznań:

- 3rd Conference of European Universities, co-organized by PP and the Foundation for the Development of the Education System (FRSE),
- First Forum of European Universities,
- Science Day at the Poznan University of Technology, this year with the participation of researchers from universities belonging to the alliance.
Scientists and employees of partner universities will come to Poznan to present their projects, exchange experiences, and take part in discussions on the development of education and research.
