GAMM2025 International Conference – Summary

From April 7 to 11, 2025, Poznan University of Technology hosted the international conference GAMM2025 – 95th Annual Meeting of the International Association of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics.  The main organizers of the event were Prof. Mieczysław Kuczma, Assoc. Prof. Magdalena Łasecka-Plura, Prof. Tomasz Łodygowski, and Prof. Wojciech Sumelka.

The conference attracted significant interest, gathering nearly 900 participants from 28 countries, including renowned senior scientists, early-career researchers, and representatives from industry. The sessions were held across 28 thematic sections and 15 minisymposia, including 6 dedicated to young researchers, as well as two industrial sessions. In total, 770 presentations were delivered, including 10 plenary lectures. Participants showcased the latest research in mechanics and the application of mathematics in engineering.

GAMM2025 was accompanied by various events aimed at promoting science and encouraging attitudes supporting sustainable development. Among the highlights were a tree planting event on the Warta Campus of PUT and a public lecture by Prof. Andrzej Dragan titled “Do quantum measurements affect the past?”. This lecture drew around 1,000 attendees, mainly youth from Poznan and surrounding areas, in addition to GAMM2025 participants.

The conference received highly positive feedback from attendees, who praised its organization and its success in enhancing the international visibility of the University.
The organizers express their sincere thanks to Rector Prof. Teofil Jesionowski and Chancellor Łukasz Kalupa, PhD for their continued support, and to all PUT staff, including the 21-member Organizing Committee and 87 student volunteers, for their help and excellent cooperation in making GAMM2025 a success.
