The International Relations Office at Poznan University of Technology has completed a project to expand the Interactive Web Application (IWA) by introducing an interactive map of the Lecture Centre. The new solution, also available through the PUT Maps mobile application, makes it easier for students, university staff and international visitors to find their way around the building.
All Floors in One Place
The map covers all floors of the Lecture Centre and allows users to quickly locate lecture rooms, classrooms, lecture halls, administrative offices, cloakrooms, toilets, lifts and emergency exits. Users can switch between floors, use filters and information layers, and plan routes to selected destinations.
The system provides directions using arrows and navigation points. It also takes into account the needs of people with reduced mobility by suggesting accessible routes that make use of available facilities, including lifts and ramps.

Mobile Map and QR Code Navigation
The map can be accessed on iOS and Android devices through the PUT Maps application. Users can save their favourite locations and routes, while photos and videos help them identify individual rooms and areas of the building.
Additional convenience is provided by QR codes placed at strategic locations throughout the building. By scanning a code, users can open the map, identify their current location and start navigating to their chosen destination.
Zębatek – the virtual guide also assists users by answering questions about finding rooms, planning routes and using the map.
Accessibility and International Accessibility
The map is available in both Polish and English and has been developed in accordance with the WCAG 2.1 digital accessibility guidelines. Particular attention has been paid to text readability, appropriate colour contrast and keyboard navigation.
The project, implemented by the International Relations Office, supports the development of modern and accessible digital infrastructure at Poznan University of Technology, making everyday life easier for the entire academic community.

The Interactive Map project was carried out within the framework of the “PUT. Open Doors. Open Minds.” project (grant agreement no. BPI/WTP/2024/1/00069/U00001), co-financed by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) under the “Welcome to Poland” programme, funded by the European Funds for Social Development 2021–2027 (FERS) (project no. FERS.01.05-IP.08-0003/24).
