The international scientific conference "Development Trends in Space Propulsion Systems," organized by the Lukasiewicz Institute of Aviation, the Polish Space Agency, and the Warsaw University of Technology, was held on December 5-6, 2024, in Warsaw. The event gathered leading experts, scientists, and representatives from the space industry. Technical sessions, panel discussions, and lectures conducted by representatives from institutions such as ESA, NASA, ILOT, DLR, and Airbus focused on the latest trends and innovations in space propulsion technology.
Topics discussed included the development of eco-friendly propulsion systems, advanced materials for rockets, and challenges related to space exploration technology.
For the students of the PUT Rocketlab Scientific Circle, participation in the conference was an excellent opportunity to establish contacts with representatives from the industry sector. During the evening gala, the Professor Wolański Awards – named after the outstanding figure in space propulsion – were presented for achievements in key areas of space technology.
The PUT Rocketlab team was honoured in the "Green Space Propulsion Achievement of the Year" category for their student turbopump project. The project, which is unique due to the fact that such a technically advanced design was created and tested by students, was recognized by the international forum for months of work and research. This award confirms that the young engineers from the PUT Rocketlab Scientific Club are recognized on the international stage, proving that their actions make a valuable contribution to space technology development.
Congratulations!
