KNITP at the TRAKO 2025 Trade Fair

From 23 to 26 September 2025, Gdansk hosted TRAKO – one of the most important railway industry events in Europe, which every two years brings together experts and transport enthusiasts from around the world. This year, students from the Student Scientific Association of Public Transport Engineers at Poznan University of Technology once again participated, presenting their flagship project – the PUTrain locomotive, built by members of the Association.

The main attraction of the stand was a demonstration track on which the custom-built locomotive operated. The possibility of a short ride generated enormous interest among both adults and children, who could feel like real train drivers, even if only for a moment. The solution prepared by the students not only attracted many visitors, but also showed that academic projects can serve both educational purposes and help connect generations of transport enthusiasts.

At the same time, members of the Association participated in the New Mobility Congress in Katowice, where they presented their solutions in the context of technological development and sustainable transport, and — importantly — showcased their second locomotive.

Participation in both events marks a significant step in building the Association’s visibility and confirms that the initiatives undertaken by students of Poznan University of Technology are appreciated not only within the academic community but also across the entire transport industry.
