On December 11, 2024, the International Relations Office organized a special holiday edition of the Intercultural Café. The evening began with a warm welcome from Olga Vakhrina from the International Relations Office and Jada Ismail, a student from the Faculty of Civil and Transport Engineering , who guided the participants through the exciting program.
The event was honoured by the presence of Prof. Mariusz Głąbowski, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, and Magdalena Zawirska-Wolniewicz, Head of the International Relations Office, who greeted the guests and shared heartfelt holiday wishes.
A true highlight for the international students was the cooking workshop, where they had the opportunity to learn how to make pierogi. This unique experience, organized by Beata Zarzycka, allowed the participants to immerse themselves in Polish culinary culture and provided an excellent opportunity for integration.
Guests were also able to enjoy a performance by the "Poligrodzianie" ensemble and relax to the melodies of the accordion duo "Bayan Brothers." The special holiday atmosphere was created by the duo "Kasia and Bartek," whose excellent sound and remarkable arrangements made the participants feel the magic of the upcoming Christmas season. Singing popular songs like "Feliz Navidad" and "Jingle Bells" brought a wonderful Christmas spirit that literally "hung in the air."
The real highlight of the evening was the premiere presentation of a new song written by the students, dedicated to the International Relations Office and the international student community. This performance was a surprise, adding a personal touch to the festive atmosphere. This evening, filled with music, the buzz of joyful conversations, and a sense of community, wonderfully embodied the spirit of Christmas and brought students from different countries closer together. The event concluded with the group decorating a Christmas tree with cardboard ornaments, which each participant could decorate.
It was an extraordinary evening!
We sincerely thank everyone who contributed to the organization of this event!
