On 7-9 October, a meeting of international cooperation specialists was held, organized as part of the Baltic University Programme (BUP), of which the Poznan University of Technology is a member. The event took place in Ostrava, Czech Republic, gathering over 50 participants from various universities and institutions from the Baltic Sea region. Our university was represented by Olha Vakhrina, co-organizer of the BUP RESCUU conference in April this year at PUT. The meeting was hosted by the University of Ostrava. These were three intensive days full of networking, workshops, lectures, and opportunities to broaden horizons and establish new relationships.
During the event, international cooperation specialists discussed key issues related to BUP membership and the involvement of universities in the program. Participants shared their experiences from working within BUP and other international academic networks, which allowed for a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities related to the internationalization of universities. Various cooperation strategies that can support international development were discussed, as well as ways to integrate activities within the program.
An important element of the meeting was the discussion on synergy between the internationalization strategies of universities participating in BUP. The possibility of coordinating activities that could lead to more effective cooperation between institutions was considered.
The participants also discussed proposals for specific activities that could contribute to improving cooperation, communication and promotion within BUP. The topics discussed also included new communication tools, methods of promoting academic achievements, as well as strategies for engaging students and academic staff in international activities.
The meeting in Ostrava was an excellent opportunity for integration and exchange of experiences between BUP members, as well as for establishing new contacts and initiating cooperation at the international level. Three days of intensive activities, supported by excellent organization and the atmosphere at the University of Ostrava, resulted in inspiring ideas and concrete plans for the future.
