Meeting of Representatives of Polish Universities in the Baltic University Programme Network in Lodz

On 14 April 2026, a meeting of representatives of Polish universities participating in the Baltic University Programme (BUP) network was held in Lodz. The event took place at Lodz University of Technology and brought together representatives of numerous academic institutions. Poznan University of Technology was represented by Olga Vakhrina, assoc. prof. Agnieszka Slosarczyk, assoc. prof. Marlena Kucz, 

The meeting began with an official opening and a welcome address delivered by the university authorities. This was followed by the main session devoted to the BUP strategy, during which participants discussed proposals for initiatives from Polish universities, the role of the Associated Secretariats, with representatives of Uppsala University joining online, and the action plan for 2026.

The next item on the agenda was a workshop on universities' carbon footprint. The session covered topics including ESG, methods for calculating carbon footprints, and recommendations for reducing them. Later in the day, participants took part in a Design Thinking workshop, which provided an opportunity to work in groups on challenges facing universities. Participants also had the opportunity to take a walk around the campus of Lodz University of Technology, exploring both its historic and modern buildings.

The event concluded with a summary session, during which the results of the workshops were presented and directions for further activities within the BUP network were discussed.

Participation in the meeting provided a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences, establish cooperation, and deepen knowledge in the areas of sustainable development and academic initiatives.
