Due to the need to modernize the artificial turf hockey field, the project is being carried out under the 2024 edition of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism’s "Investments of Special Importance for Sport" program. The plan includes the modernization of the “water pitch” and surrounding infrastructure.
The field will host physical education classes, training sessions of the University Sports Club section, and professional field hockey training and matches. Furthermore, based on a signed agreement with the Polish Field Hockey Association (PZHT), the pitch will be used for training national teams (juniors, youth, seniors) as well as for organizing international tournaments. The facility will be fully accessible to people with disabilities.
On May 26, 2025, Poznan University of Technology signed a contract with Panorama Obiekty Sportowe sp. z o.o., concerning the redevelopment of the hockey field, including reconstruction of the surrounding sewage system. The project will be carried out in a “design and build” system.
The contract was signed on behalf of Poznan University of Technology by Rector Prof. Teofil Jesionowski, DSc, Eng. On the contractor’s side, the document was signed by Jarosław Zabielski, acting under a power of attorney granted by the President of the Management Board, Krzysztof Klepacki.
