Orientation Day: a Welcoming Event for International Students
Every year, the International Relations Office organizes Orientation Day, a dynamic and informative event specifically designed for international students. This event has become a highlight at the beginning of the academic calendar, packed with valuable presentations covering a wide range of essential topics. On the 16th of October, the students received crucial information on visa legalization processes, academic regulations and insurance. The new coming students were empowered by the knowledge, on how to stay out of troubles, and were provided with resources for assistance that could be helpful and invaluable in emergency situations. The students were also provided with details on language courses to enhance their communication skills, as well as information on sports activities to help maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. Furthermore, library initiatives were highlighted, reflecting the university's commitment to student well-being and academic success.
During Orientation Day the international students received information about the city of Poznan. From cultural experiences to entertainment options, international students gained insight into how to enrich their free time and explore the city. The Erasmus + program and EUNICE activities are spotlighted, emphasizing the various exchange opportunities available for students looking to expand their horizons during their studies.
The students learnt about the Erasmus Students’ Network, which plays a vital role in helping students integrate into their new lives.They also had opportunity to visit dedicated booths prepared by various invited speakers, allowing them to engage in personalized discussions and gather detailed information on specific topics of interest.
This annual event not only provides essential information but also fosters connections among students, university staff, and the local community. As students embark on their educational journeys, Orientation Day reflects the university's dedication to promoting inclusivity, providing support, and ensuring the success of its international community.
