During the Academic Sports Gala in Warsaw, Poznan University of Technology received distinctions for the achievements of its students in the Polish Academic Championships.
The Academic Sports Gala, summarizing another edition of the competitions held as part of the Polish Academic Championships, took place on 30 October in Warsaw. The event was organized by the Main Board of the Academic Sports Association (AZS).
Poznan University of Technology was represented by the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education, Prof. Agnieszka Misztal, the Director of the Sports Centre and President of the AZS PUT University Club, Robert Rejewski, and the Vice-President of the AZS PUT University Club, Katarzyna Wasielewska.
During the ceremony, the University received a distinction for its students’ participation in the 2024/2025 edition of the Polish Academic Championships, as well as for achieving 15th place in the overall AMP classification. In the previous year, a total of 132 higher education institutions in Poland took part in the championships.
Poznan University of Technology also received recognition for its students’ participation in the European Academic Championships, particularly in combat sports and rowing. The award was presented by Adam Roczek, Vice-President of the AZS Main Board and former long-serving President of the European University Sports Association (EUSA).
On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Inclusive Polish Championships organised by AZS, the University was also honoured for its contribution to their development and for many years of organising the Inclusive Polish AZS Championships in table tennis. This distinction was presented by Marta Dalecka, Vice-President of the AZS Main Board for sports of persons with disabilities.
