On May 31st this year, the International Relations Office of Poznan University of Technology organized a special event – Gala Night, marking the official closing of the project “PUT Students on Board”, carried out within the Welcome to Poland program, financed by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA).
That evening, the Lecture Centre of Poznan University of Technology was transformed into an elegant, energetic space for celebration, integration, and intercultural exchange. International students, dressed in formal attire, filled the hall with enthusiasm and a joyful atmosphere – one that perfectly reflected the spirit of the international academic community.
The highlight of the evening was a presentation by Olha Vakhrina, who showcased the achievements of the “PUT Students on Board” project, emphasizing its importance in supporting the adaptation and integration of international students. Among the presented activities, special attention was given to the Campus Game – an interactive field game, highly praised by participants, which effectively fostered relationship-building and strengthened bonds among students from around the world.
During the Gala, the most active participants of the BUDDY program were also honored. These students, with dedication and empathy, helped newcomers navigate their new environment. The awardees were invited onto the red carpet to receive certificates, symbolic trophies, and gifts – as a gesture of gratitude for their exceptional contributions and open-mindedness.
The evening was not only official but also highly social. A photo booth allowed attendees to capture joyful moments together – a testament to friendship, multiculturalism, and mutual respect. The Gala became a meeting point for different traditions, languages, and experiences, proving that the academic community at Poznan University of Technology is strengthened by its diversity.
As the first event of its kind, Gala Night set a high standard for future editions. It was an evening full of music, emotion, gratitude, and laughter – an unforgettable finale to a project that achieved not only formal goals but also deeply human ones: integration, openness, and shared academic life experiences.
