Science Day 2025 – scientific dialogue at Poznan University of Technology

On May 30, 2025, the third edition of the Science Day took place at the Lecture Centre of Poznan University of Technology – a recurring event initiated and led by Prof. Wojciech Sumelka, Vice-Rector for Research. The event aimed to facilitate knowledge exchange, share experiences, and showcase current research directions across various scientific fields.

The event was officially opened by the Rector of Poznan University of Technology, Prof. Teofil Jesionowski, who welcomed participants and emphasized the importance of dialogue with the academic community from across Poland.

As part of the event, nine guest lectures were held, each preceded by brief introductions from the deans of respective faculties, who presented the invited speakers – distinguished scientists from leading technical universities in the country.

The invited guests included:

  • Prof. Wojciech Franus from Lublin University of Technology"Functionalized Mineral Additives in Construction", guest of Prof. Jacek Pielecha, Dean of the Faculty of Civil and Transport Engineering,
  • Prof. Łukasz Kaczmarek from Lodz University of Technology"Quo Vadis Materials Science Engineering?", invited by Prof. Mirosław Szybowicz, Dean of the Faculty of Materials Engineering and Technical Physics.

Throughout the event, participants could also visit research team booths located in the corridors of the Lecture Centre and take part in parallel workshops, including:

During the coffee and lunch breaks, accordionist Łukasz Mirek, a graduate of the Poznan Academy of Music, performed live.

Science Day 2025 proved to be an inspiring forum for scientific exchange and an excellent opportunity to deepen interfaculty and interuniversity collaboration. Participants not only listened to the latest research trends but also had the chance to ask questions and talk with the speakers in a more informal setting.
