The Coalition for Polish Innovation (KPI) has launched the "Science Leaders Board" (SLB) program, aimed at enhancing Poland's visibility worldwide as a source of global innovations. The initiative connects business leaders with scientific leaders, creating a collaborative space that supports the development of Polish science and technology.
The program was created in collaboration with some of Poland's largest technology investors, including Intel, Orange, Google, Dell, Ericsson, and Flex.
The first pilot edition of the program features 10 outstanding scientists from Poland, among them Prof. Jaszkiewicz from the Faculty of Computing and Telecommunications at Poznan University of Technology.
"We started by conducting a series of discussions with representatives from the business and scientific communities. This allowed us to identify key challenges facing Polish science, such as improving information exchange with businesses, supporting the commercialisation of research, developing interdisciplinary PhDs, and promoting Polish scientific achievements globally. In response, we created the 'Science Leaders Board' program, which will serve as a platform for collaboration between businesses and outstanding scientists," said Amelia Szukowska, Vice President of KPI.
The "Science Leaders Board" program offers participants access to cutting-edge technologies, business mentoring, and training to develop skills ranging from entrepreneurship to soft skills. Additionally, through international networking and participation in industry events, scientists have the opportunity to promote their achievements on the global stage.
The business-science collaboration under SLB focuses on areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, cybersecurity, semiconductors, 5G networks, sustainable energy, and clean technologies. Project partners – Intel, Orange, Google, Dell, Ericsson, and Flex – have long been investing in Poland in research and development, production, and services
Now, they have joined forces to support outstanding Polish scientists as part of a new initiative.
"Our goal is not only to support current leaders in science but also to inspire young talents to pursue scientific careers. We want Poland to be recognized worldwide as a source of global innovations developed through improved collaboration between business and science," adds Marcin Czyża, President of KPI.
