Seminar as Part of the Weimar Excellence Program

On May 26–27, a seminar was held at Poznan University of Technology as part of the Weimar Excellence Initiative 2024.

The event focused on flexible microstructures and materials tailored to specific needs in biomedical engineering and technology. The Weimar Excellence Initiative 2024 is a joint effort between Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France (France), BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg (Germany), and Poznan University of Technology (Poland), with support from the French Embassy in Germany.

The seminar was co-organized by the Biomedical Engineering Excellence Cluster at Poznan University of Technology. This Weimar meeting marked another important step in strengthening cooperation in the fields of mechanical, biomedical, and materials engineering.

The seminar was officially opened by Prof. Mariusz Głąbowski, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation at Poznan University of Technology. Welcoming remarks were also delivered by Prof. Michael Hübner, Vice-Rector for Research at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, and Mr. Hugo Titeca, representative of the Science Department of the French Embassy in Berlin.

Presentations during the seminar were delivered by researchers from leading scientific institutions, including:

The Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM), Germany

Department of Laser Technologies, Automation and Production Organization, Wrocław University of Science and Technology

Institute of Fundamental Technological Research, Polish Academy of Sciences.

The second day of the seminar was dedicated to presentations by young researchers, including works conducted as part of joint PhD programs between BTU, UPHF, and Poznan University of Technology.

The seminar concluded with a face-to-face meeting of representatives from Poznan University of Technology, UPHF, and BTU, during which future priorities and areas of cooperation were established.
