On April 4, 2025, Space Industry Day took place in the session hall of the Marshal's Office of the Greater Poland Voivodeship in Poznan.
The event aimed to promote the Polish space sector and highlight the innovation potential of the Greater Poland region. It was organised by the Marshal’s Office of the Greater Poland Voivodeship in cooperation with the Polish Space Agency (POLSA).
The event began with opening speeches delivered by:
- Jacek Bogusławski, Member of the Board of the Greater Poland Voivodeship,
- Professor Teofil Jesionowski, Rector of Poznan University of Technology,
- and Colonel Marcin Mazur, Vice President of POLSA.
The keynote speech was delivered by Dr. Agnieszka Kuczała from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, who presented the current activities and development directions of space missions.
During the event, Poznan University of Technology launched two new projects:
- ESA Spaceship Poland, presented by Dr. Eng. Krzysztof Walas,
- and ESA Phi-Lab Poland, introduced by Dr. Eng. Julia Gościańska-Łowińska.
Dr. Eng. Marek Kraft presented the university’s achievements in space project implementation, including a joint experiment on the International Space Station (ISS) conducted with KP Labs.
A key moment of the meeting was the signing of a cooperation agreement between Poznan University of Technology and the Polish Space Agency (POLSA). Both parties declared their intention to collaborate on current and future national, EU, and ESA initiatives aimed at strengthening Poland’s capacity in the field of space technologies.
During the panel discussion, experts debated the development potential of Poland in the areas of artificial intelligence, robotics, and space technologies.
The event also served as a platform for cooperation between businesses, research institutions, and public administration.
Two research teams from Poznan University of Technology also showcased their capabilities:
- SONSOS, led by Prof. Dariusz Pazderski,
- and POLYITAN, led by Prof. Rafał Krenz
The significance of innovation in the space sector was emphasised, along with the role of Greater Poland as a region with strong technological potential.
The event concluded with a presentation of the benefits of organising the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Poznan in 2027.
The success of Space Industry Day highlighted the exemplary collaboration between the scientific, industrial, and governmental sectors in Poland.
The event concluded with a networking session, allowing participants to exchange experiences and establish new partnerships.
