Workshop on Rail Technology 2024 – Students of Poznan University of Technology at International Workshops in Berlin
From November 12 to 15, Poznan University of Technology students interested in the rail industry participated in the Workshop on Rail Technology 2024. The event was organised in collaboration with Poznan University of Technology and Technische Universität Berlin. This unique international event combined hands-on learning, study visits, and participant networking.
The main goal of WRT is to foster collaborative work on innovative solutions in rail transport. Students had the opportunity to learn about the latest projects conducted at the university in Berlin and exchange experiences with their German counterparts.
One of the program's highlights was a visit to PhotonAG, a company specializing in precision sheet metal processing, where participants observed modern manufacturing processes. Students also visited the German Museum of Technology, where they explored the historical development of engineering.
However, the workshops were not just about learning. Shared dinners, a board game evening, and sightseeing in Berlin offered participants opportunities to connect and build relationships.
The trip was organized by the Department of Rail Transport at the Institute of Transport, with support from students of the Public Transport Engineering Student Research Group.
Thanks to their participation in the workshops, young engineers from Poznan University of Technology returned home with new ideas that could contribute to the further development of rail transport technology.
