Visit of the Leibniz Universität Hannover Delegation at Poznan University of Technology

From February 26 to 28, 2025, we hosted a delegation from Leibniz Universität Hannover (LUH), led by Prof. Dr. Volker Epping, Rector of LUH. This visit marked another significant step in strengthening the cooperation between our universities, with a particular focus on scientific research and technological innovations.

During their stay, the LUH guests had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the research activities at Poznan University of Technology, its scientific infrastructure, and key projects being carried out in the areas of bioengineering, quantum engineering, chemical technologies, and applied sciences. The visit included meetings with scientists from Poznan University of Technology, a tour of modern laboratories, and the European Centre for Bioinformatics and Genomics. The researchers from Leibniz Universität Hannover also presented the results of their current research in the field of mechanics and construction, which facilitated knowledge exchange and identification of potential areas for collaboration.

The LUH delegation also had the opportunity to learn about the history of Poznan University of Technology and visit its infrastructure, including the Kakolewo Campus. As part of this section of the visit, the guests participated in specially prepared flight demonstrations and listened to presentations on projects related to space robotics and Earth observation systems.

On the side of Poznan University of Technology, the LUH delegation was welcomed by the Rector, Prof. Teofil Jesionowski, Vice-Rector for Research, Prof. Wojciech Sumelka, Vice-Rector for Development and Cooperation with Industry, Assoc. Prof. Arkadiusz Ptak, , Prof.Mieczysław Kuczma from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Transport, and Chancellor Dr. Łukasz Kalupa. Special attention was given to the prospects of cooperation within research and development projects, as well as issues related to technology transfer.

There was also a meeting dedicated to the exchange of experiences and best practices regarding the functioning of European universities, modern teaching methods, and the innovative infrastructure of Poznan University of Technology's buildings.

The visit of the Leibniz Universität Hannover delegation was an important step in the further development of international relations at Poznan University of Technology, opening new opportunities for joint research initiatives and mutual exchange of academic experiences.
