EUNICE launches course “Introduction to Global Studies”

This multidisciplinary MOOC is the first co-created course between the seven universities of the alliance, which approaches a variety of topics from a global perspective

It´s already available for people inside and outside the EUNICE university community and will be open until 31st May

Santander – 16th February.- Since today EUNICE European University offers a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) Introduction to Global Studies, free of charge, not only for EUNICE members but for anyone interested. The course is  conceived as an  introduction to global studies, covering topics such as economy, society, culture, health or sustainability from a global perspective and will be available until 31st May.

In the context of today’s globalised world, this MOOC course aims at providing insight into the interrelationships between events and actors in different environments at a local, national and global level. In addition, its introductory format will make it easy for students from different fields and the general public to follow the course.

The course participants will have access to a wide range of video and written contents and will be able to follow the eight lessons and complete the activities at their own pace through EUNICE's Moodle virtual campus. Upon successful completion of the course, a certificate issued by EUNICE on behalf of all EUNICE member universities will be automatically send to the participants. Attendees enrolled in one of the member universities of the EUNICE Alliance can ask for recognition possibilities of the  3 ECTS credits at their home university (contact your local coordinator).

One of the main added values of this course is that it counts on the contribution of lecturers from seven countries: “The learning experience will be enriched by the multiculturalism offered by the diverse profiles of the teaching staff,” said Adolfo Cosme Fernández, Professor of Economics at the University of Cantabria (Spain) coordinating the course.
