Prof. Grzegorz Ślaski, representing the Poznan University of Technology, participated in the 12th International Conference "Research Laboratories – Quality Systems in the European Union." The conference, under the patronage of the Rector of Poznan University of Technology, prof. Teofil Jesionowski, took place on June 13-15, 2024, in Swieradów-Zdroj. It was organized by the Gorzow Wielkopolski Branch of the Association of Polish Mechanical Engineers and Technicians (SIMP) and the Material Research Section of the Club of Polish Research Laboratories (POLLAB). The conference addressed issues related to material research, modern manufacturing technologies, research methods, and accreditation and certification requirements, focusing on non-destructive testing methods. It also included presentations on the digitalization of laboratories and research, the certification and accreditation of research personnel, and recycling in projects of the Light Metals Centre. In the technical session held at the TÜV SÜD Rail GmbH research centre in Gorlitz, studies on rail vehicles and their components were presented.
A representative of Poznan University of Technology made the presentation on the topic "Modern Research Offer of Poznan University of Technology," informing participants about selected projects undertaken by the University related to the conference theme (including NSMET – National Coordinate Metrology Network, the development of an inspection and measurement line for forged and rolled rings and rims, among others) as well as the research and educational offerings (postgraduate studies) aimed at the economic environment, and projects carried out by students.
The conference was attended by 81 participants from industry (including Huta Ostrowiec, FASING S.A, Holding-ZREMB, Huta Bankowa, GAZSYSTEM S.A.), research laboratories (Łukasiewicz Research Network and private laboratories), and universities (including Koszalin University of Technology, Poznan University of Technology, Lodz University of Technology, and Bydgoszcz University of Technology).
In addition to Poznan University of Technology, the conference was also patronized by the Office of Technical Inspection and the Łukasiewicz Upper Silesian Institute of Technology.
