The competition "Award of the City of Poznan for an outstanding doctoral thesis" and "Award of the City of Poznan for an outstanding master's thesis" have been announced.
The 20th edition of the Competition received 111 works, including 53 master's theses and 58 doctoral theses. By the decision of the Competition Jury, three equivalent financial prizes and four equivalent financial distinctions were awarded in the category of doctoral theses, while in the category of master's theses, three equivalent financial prizes and four equivalent financial distinctions were awarded.
Among those awarded and distinguished were five authors of theses defended at the Poznan University of Technology:
- Doctoral thesis entitled: "Methodology for post-production testing of tapered roller bearings using digital vibroacoustic signal processing techniques", written by Mr. Bartosz Jakubek under the supervision of prof. Roman Barczewski – award.
- Doctoral thesis entitled: "Biological caproic acid production in microbiome-based processes", written by Ms. Anna Duber under the supervision of prof.Piotr Oleśkowicz-Popiela – distinction.
- Doctoral thesis entitled: "Mathematical analysis of processes and phenomena in electrochemical systems for energy storage and conversion" written by Mr. Przemysław Gałek under the supervision of prof. Krzysztof Fic– distinction.
- Master's thesis entitled: "Techniques for neutralizing clickbait posts in social networks using natural language processing methods", written by Mr. Mateusz Woźny under the supervision of Mateusz Lango, PhD – award.
- Master's thesis entitled: "Enzymatic conversion of environmental pollutants carried out using immobilized enzymes" written by Ms. Agnieszka Rybarczyk under the supervision of prof. Jakub Zdart – distinction.
