On January 25, 2024, the AI x CityLab letter of intent was signed at the headquarters of the Enigma Cipher Center (CSE) in Poznan.
The parties to the signed document are the city of Poznan, the In_Spire Foundation, and the Artificial Intelligence Centre of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poznan University of Technology, which includes the Interdisciplinary Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity, the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center, and the Łukasiewicz Research Network - Poznan Institute of Technology.
Regarding the advancement of the Smart City concept in Poznan, the involved parties affirm their collaboration and dedication to enhancing artificial intelligence for aiding administrative procedures and delivering contemporary digital amenities to Poznań's inhabitants.
The common goal of the partners of the signed letter is: identifying challenges, prototyping, applying for external funds, cooperation in projects, implementation of pilot projects, staff training, and the leading role of the city.
The main goal of the project is to prepare the city of Poznan for all threats and to ensure a joint response to potential cyber-attacks..
Today, we would like to lay the foundation for the institutionalization of cooperation in the development of artificial intelligence with the In_Spire Foundation, as well as with scientists from leading scientific and research institutions in our city in the field of artificial intelligence development through the evolution of the Smart City idea (…) We hope that such cooperation will allow placing the resident at the centre of innovation because that's what we care about, but also the synergy effect will allow us to implement joint projects, seek funding, and also develop the modern sector for which Poznan would like to be a hub and we hope to realize these ambitions - said Michał Łakomski - plenipotentiary of the Mayor of Poznan for smart city, director of the Office of Digitization and Cybersecurity of the Municipal Office of Poznan.
