Once again, the Poznan University of Technology welcomed new foreign students who started their master's studies in Poland in the summer semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. Our university's offer is extremely popular among foreign candidates. More than 800 foreigners participated in this recruitment process.
The International Relations Office is not only responsible for promoting educational offer abroad and recruiting foreign students but also takes care of their well-being during the entire period of study. One of the most important events regularly organized by IRO for newly admitted students is Orientation Day. This semester, the event took place on March 20. This year, the event was attended by representatives of the City Hall, the Provincial Office, the Police, the Border Guard, the Migrant Info Point, the National Health Fund, as well as the Library, the Center for Languages and Communication, the Erasmus section, the European University Department, the Students’ Union, the Erasmus Student Network and our irreplaceable Buddies.
Students received a set of practical information from various fields, which constituted the basis for understanding their rights and obligations in Poland. In the first part of the meeting, they had the opportunity to listen to the presentation and then they could ask questions at individual units' stands in a more informal atmosphere. Each student was provided with a welcome package as part of the "PUT Students on Board" project. There are still many events ahead of us that will allow new students to easily adapt to new circumstances and effectively integrate with the academic community. We would like to thank the main organizer of this event - Mrs. Olga Vakhrina, coordinator of the Buddy program at PUT, whose positive energy was easily transferred to the Orientation Day participants.
