In the most recent edition of the U.S. News Best Global Universities ranking, 2,250 top universities from around the world were selected based on indicators grouped into three categories: global and regional academic reputation, bibliometric indicators from the Web of Science database (Clarivate), and scientific excellence. In the national classification, the Poznan University of Technology claimed the 21st spot, including the 6th place in the category of Polish technical universities.

The Poznan University of Technology was also included in four thematic areas of the U.S. ranking. News Best Global Universities Subject Rankings:

• Chemistry (811th place in the world, 11th place in Poland)
• Engineering (510th place in the world, 7th place in Poland)
• Materials Science (763rd place in the world, 9th place in Poland)
• Physical Chemistry (662nd place in the world, 10th place in Poland)
