The Poznan University of Technology was ranked twelfth in the ranking of academic universities in 2023 prepared by the Perspektywy Education Foundation. The jury awarded our university with the AWANS 2023 Special Award for the university that made the most spectacular jump to the top .The award was received by prof. Agnieszka Misztal, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education.
PUT is the sixth place among technical universities.
In the ranking of fields of study:
- automatics and robotics (Faculty of Control, Robotics and Electrical Engineering) - 1st place
- computer science (Faculty of Computing and Telecommunications) - 4th place
- chemical engineering (Faculty of Chemical Technology) - 3rd place
- materials engineering (Faculty of Materials Engineering and Technical Physics) - 5th place
- environmental engineering (Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Energy) - 4th place
- aviation and astronautics (Faculty of Civil and Transport Engineering) - 2nd place
- management and production engineering (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering) - 2nd place
The Perspektywy University Ranking includes 30 indicators grouped into seven criteria: Prestige, Graduates on the labour market, Scientific potential, Innovation, Scientific effectiveness, Educational conditions and Internationalisation. This makes it one of the most extensive and most transparent educational rankings in the world. Its methodology is developed by the Board chaired by prof. Michał Kleiber, former president of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
While the ranking of universities is dominated by criteria related to research aspects, in the rankings of non-public and vocational universities, criteria related to the practical nature of studies conducted at these universities are more important, e.g. Polish Graduate Tracking System (ELA) and postgraduate studies.
- The Ranking is addressed to high school graduates - says Waldemar Siwiński, founder of the Perspektywy Foundation, creator of Polish educational rankings. – We want to make it easier for young people to choose a field of study and university. But the Perspektywy University Ranking is also a kind of "photograph" of Polish universities, taken from a non-accidental angle. Photography that helps us determine where we are, what we should improve, what to pay special attention to in the coming years.
