In this year's edition of the SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR), 9054 universities, institutions, and private companies engaged in research were included, with 4762 higher education institutions worldwide.
The main criteria of the SCImago ranking are research performance (50%), innovation (30%), and societal impact (20%).
The Poznan University of Technology was recognized in many thematic areas. Among Polish higher education institutions, it ranked 1st in the category of Aerospace Engineering, 3rd in the category of Automotive Engineering (as well as 6th overall in the area of Engineering) and 7th in the area of Environmental Science and Mathematics.
In the Polish higher education institutions ranking, the Poznan University of Technology was classified in 27th place (including 18th place in the "innovation" category). In the ranking of Polish technical universities, Poznan University of Technology occupies 8th place.
