MEETING OF THE RECTOR WITH THE EUROPEAN VICE-CHAMPION, A STUDENT OF THE PUT

Prof Teofil Jesionowski congratulated Mateusz Siuda, a Faculty of Civil and Transport Engineering student, on his bronze medal in the European Championships in the 4x100 metres relay.

The Rector emphasised that "the passions of students will be supported wholeheartedly". The Poznan University of Technology medallist admitted in a conversation with the rector that the university allows one to realise dreams and by choosing to study, one does not have to give up plans. Mateusz plans to participate in the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024.

As a reminder: the Polish 4x100 metres relay team:  Dominik Kopeć, Przemysław Słowikowski, Patryk Wykrota and Mateusz Siuda finished third in their semi-final run at the European Championships in Munich. The sprinters advanced to the final with the fourth fastest time (38.60 s). In the final run, Mateusz was replaced by Adrian Brzezinski. The Poles covered the distance in a time of 38.15 s and improved the national record by 16 hundredths.
