As part of the Poznan University of Technology Observation, Supervision and Tracking of Satellite Objects (SONSOS) project, a stationary, field observation station for satellite objects was built, consisting of two astronomical domes to conduct research and development activities in the field of development, production, testing and validation of positioning robots. for use in astronomical structures (telescope assembly). The devices purchased as part of the project include an optical set of a wide-angle telescope, a horizontal modular robot, a goniometric positioning system, a set of cameras, laser communication elements and a set of data acquisition units and software for managing the observation equipment and conducting observations.
Thanks to the project, a scientific and research infrastructure was built to carry out R&D work in order to test and validate prototypes of positioning robots necessary in the construction of devices for ultra-precise, dynamic control and their application, precise control algorithms with high precision and movement dynamics, as well as algorithms and management of observation equipment for observing individual objects and their groups.
