This year's Competition for the Science Award of the City of Poznan and the Scholarship for young researchers from the Poznan scientific community has been resolved. The competition received 89 applications, including 72 for a Scholarship and 17 for a Scientific Award.

By the Chapter's decision, 12 scholarships for young researchers and one Scientific Award were awarded. Four persons from the Poznan University of Technology received scholarships for young researchers:

1. Mr. Patryk Jędrzejczak (chemical sciences) for outstanding scientific achievements in the production of innovative titanium(IV) oxide-kraft lignin hybrid systems and their use as admixtures and/or additives for cement and polymer composites.
2. Mr. Piotr Kicki (automation, electronics, electrical engineering and space technologies), for outstanding scientific achievements in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence.
3. Mrs. Emilia Krok (materials engineering), for achievements in the field of biophysics of biological membranes, in particular for developing an innovative method for obtaining biomimetic biological membranes capable of anhydrobiosis.
4. Mr. Adam Maćkowiak (chemical sciences), for outstanding international scientific activity and achievements in electrochemical devices for storing electricity.

Scholarship holders will receive one-time payments of PLN 10,000.

The official announcement of the results took place on June 27, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the White Room of the Poznan City Hall.
