Six scientists from the Poznan University of Technology with NSC grants

The design of cement composites, gold nanoparticles, and the use of machine learning - among others, these areas of research done by the researchers of the Poznan University of Technology will be co-financed by the National Science Centre. The granted amount exceeds PLN 3 million.

Prof. Lukasz Klapiszewski, from the Faculty of Chemical Technology, will work in cooperation with the Silesian University of Technology, on a project with the support of the OPUS competition: “The design of cement composites using balanced ionic compounds: Evaluation of structural and functional properties”

As part of the PRELUDIUM call, five doctoral students from the Faculty of Chemical Technology, Faculty of Materials Science and Technical Physics, Faculty of Civil and Transport Engineering, as well as Faculty of Computing and Telecommunications, will receive funding for their research:

Masoud Foroutan Koudah, M. Sc

Preparation and characterization of the new 2D MXene material

Beata Tim, M.Sc

Photoactivated gold nanoparticles as promising agents in photothermal therapy - in vitro studies in biomimetic membrane systems

MSc. Paulina Anna Stempin

Mechanics of bar-plate structures with strong scale effect - mathematical modelling and experimental analysis

MSc. Marcin Dominik Hoffman

According to the National Science Centre, the winners of the OPUS 23 competition are 266 researchers: the largest number of projects will be implemented by representatives of technical sciences - 103; 89 projects in the field of life sciences and 74 in the field of humanities, social sciences and arts also received funding.

The budget allocated for their implementation is over PLN 401.5 million. The PRELUDIUM is a funding opportunity intended for pre-doctoral researchers about to embark on their scientific careers. Funding scheme: up to 70,000 PLN for projects lasting 12 months, up to 140,000 PLN for projects lasting 24 months, up to 210,000 PLN for projects lasting 36 months.
