PUT team third in the International F1THENTH competition

During the International Conference on Robotics and Automation, the largest robotic conference held in London, the 11th edition of the International F1THENTH competition was organized.22 teams from Europe, Asia and North America qualified for the finals. The team from the Poznan University of Technology composed of Grzegorz Czechmanowski, Jan Węgrzynowski, Tomasz Kaproń, and Amadeusz Szymko under the supervision of Krzysztof Walas, PhD took third place.

On the first day of the competition, training sessions were held during which the track could be tested. In qualifying, the time of the fastest lap and the number of laps driven without a collision counted. In the next part of the competition, two cars raced on the track and had to complete eight laps as quickly as possible. Cars were allowed to overtake, but collisions with the track and with an opponent's car were penalized.

"Such a high place was a big surprise for us because it was the first start of our team in such a competition" - said Krzysztof Walas,. after the competition. In the fight for the finals, our team was eliminated by ETH Zurich, and in the competition for 3rd place won with the team from Nagoya University.
