12th Poznan Logistics Forum

On April 11-12, 2024, the 12th edition of the National Conference "Poznan Logistics Forum" was held,. The event was organized by the Logistics Scientific Club operating at the Faculty of Engineering Management of the Poznan University of Technology.

The main goal of the event was to select the winners in the competition for the best paper on the topic: "The future of urban logistics: Solutions in the era of sustainable development", as well as to expand the participants' knowledge in the field of logistics and transport and integrate the academic and business communities.

The conference was attended by over 100 participants from 13 different universities from all over Poland. Representatives of companies, as well as the authorities and employees of the Poznan University of Technology were also invited to the event.

The conference was opened by the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education, prof. Agnieszka Misztal, On behalf of the Faculty of Engineering Management, the guests were welcomed by prof. Hanna Włodarkiewicz-Klimek, the Dean of The Faculty.

After the official opening, the presentations of the 5 final papers began:

  • Iga Tuszkowska i Julia Lamczyk - " Electromobility of means of transport in the Tricity agglomeration "
  • Mateusz Galas - " The impact of carsharing on sustainable mobility in cities "
  • Mateusz Szawelski - " Medical waste logistics: Safe transport and storage of the health care sector "
  • Joanna Cierzniewska i Patrycja Szymańska - “ Preferences of young Poznań residents regarding the use of public transport”
  • Jakub Florczykiewicz i Julia Lindstedt - “ Autonomous transport systems - now it's the turn of the railway?” 

 

Between the presentations, there were lectures prepared by financial and media partners, i.e. GLS, HKK Group and Łukasiewicz. Company representatives briefly acquainted the conference participants with the history and offers of their companies and also described further development plans and the challenges they face in their daily work.

During the competition, the participants were assessed by a jury composed of:

  • Karolina Werner-Lewandowska, PhD - chairwoman of the competition committee,
  • Roman Domański,PhD
  • Piotr Lubiński, PhD – supervisor of the Logistics Scientific Club,
  • Magdalena Kostecka – representative of Rohlig Suus,
  • Marta Broda – chairwoman of the Logistics Scientific Club.

 

The competition results were as follows:

  • 1ST PLACE - Mateusz Galas - loGIStic Science Club - Gdynia Maritime University.
  • 2ND PLACE - Mateusz Szawelski - Corlog Scientific Club - University of Logistics.
  • 3RD PLACE - Iga Tuszkowska, Julia Lamczyk - loGIStic Scientific Club - Gdynia Maritime University.

At the end of the first day of the event, there was a competition testing the participants' knowledge in the field of logistics and a debate conducted by the Director of the Institute of Logistics, Dr. Hab. engineer Łukasz Hadaś, prof. PP.

On the second day of the conference, participants took part in workshops combined with trips to the following companies: Relopack, GLS, Imperial Tobacco, Promag.
