The Faculty of Materials Engineering and Technical Physics

The Faculty of Materials Engineering and Technical Physics was created by the Resolution of the Academic Senate of Poznan University of Technology of 10 July 2019. It started functioning in January 2020. The newly created Faculty consists of the following institutes: the Institute of Materials Science and Engineering, the Institute of Physics and the Institute of Materials Research and Quantum Engineering. The institutes conduct research work in the following areas:

  • the Institute of Materials Science and Engineering: functional nanomaterials, metal science and surface engineering,
  • the Institute of Physics: nanotechnology, molecular bioelectronics, surface semiconductor and metallic structures, computer simulations and nanomechanics,
  • the Institute of Materials Research and Quantum Engineering: micro- and nanostructures of organic compounds, functional materials in optoelectronics, atomic and molecular spectroscopy.

Fields of study offered by the Faculty include:

  • Materials Engineering,
  • Education in Technology and Informatics,
  • Technical Physics.
