Orientation Week

Last week, at the turn of September and October, Orientation Week organized by the Centre of Languages and Communication took place. It is a traditional event addressed to international students of Erasmus+ and Erasmus Exchange Programmes who come to study at Poznan University of Technology. This semester, over 100 students decided to study at PUT.

During Orientation Week students participated in various lectures, multimedia presentations, workshops and quizzes. They had an opportunity to become familiar with Polish geography and history, Polish customs and traditions and the language. The workshop concerning Polish culture and intercultural differences was found to be extremely interesting.

Students also took part in a guided tour around Poznan. They visited  the Parish Church in  the Old Town, the Old Market Square and the Town Hall, the Museum of History of the City of Poznan and the Museum of Applied Arts in the Royal Castle at the Przemysl Hill. They also tasted the local specialty: St. Martin's croissants, which surprised them with their size and unique taste.

Thanks to interesting presentations, friendly atmosphere and beautiful weather everyone had a great time and Orientation Week turned out to be successful once again.

The programme of lectures, workshops and trips was prepared and conducted by the Polish language team from the Center of Languages and Communication: Justyna Połomka, M.A., Agnieszka Rutkowska, M.A. and Barbara Tarko M.A.
