Prof. Ciałkowski awarded by Kielce University of Technology. The title of Doctor Honoris Causa is awarded by universities to persons of particular merit in the field of science and culture. The ceremony took place on October 20, 2021.
On October 15, 2021 the Rector of the Poznan University of Technology prof. dr hab. inż. Teofil Jesionowski inaugurated the new academic year 2021/2022 at the Doctoral School of the Poznan University of Technology. At the ceremony all those present were also representatives of Doctoral School and the Doctoral Student Council – mgr inż. Aleksandra Pawlak and mgr inż. Alireza Tabrizikahou.
The Polish Metrological Union (PMU) launched its activities in Lublin during the National Forum for the Integration of Polish Metrology. Among the core activities of the union are the organization of seminars, symposiums, conferences and congresses. The founders of PMU met today at the Lublin University of Technology. The meeting was attended, among others, by prof. Teofil Jesionowski, the rector of the Poznan University of Technology, a number of representatives of Polish universities, scientific institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Łukasiewicz Research Network.
Three students of the Faculty of Computing and Telecommunications were winners of the Scholarship programme “New Technologies for Girls”. The awards were presented during the official Inauguration Gala.

The cooperation will concentrate on undertaking joint research activities, actions focused on the improvement of the study programmes, employees training, and internships for students of Electromobility. Prof. Wojciech Szeląg, Dean of the Faculty of Automatic Control, Robotics and Electrical Engineering, signed a letter of intent with Jan Delik, founder and co-owner of Delik company, an authorized representative of the KIA brand. The dealer company is a part of a group that has been providing services for the automotive industry for over 30 years.

Ecology and environmental protection are the crucial aspects of university activities in Poland. More and more students and doctoral students undertake research and work in this field. Therefore, we invite the academic community to participate in the Be ECO with US International Scientific Conference. The conference will be held on November 19-21, 2021, in the assembly hall of the University of Szczecin (ul. Krakowska 71-79, Szczecin).
On September 13-17, 2021, the most significant European conference in the field of machine learning - the European Conference on Machine Learning and Principles and Practice of Knowledge Discovery in Databases was held in the virtual form in Bilbao, Spain. Among over 1000 participants, the largest group from Poland was a group of scientists from the Institute of Computing Science and students of the Faculty of Computing and Telecommunications of the Poznan University of Technology (9 participants).
The pandemic has largely disrupted our life in the last two years, hence we are starting the academic year with the hope of a safe return to the traditional form of work and study. In accordance with the current recommendations of the Ministry of Education and Science, we would like to provide each of you with direct contact with the university, as well as restore academic life without fear. We do not forget, however, that the threat of the coronavirus still exists. Modern medicine defines vaccinations as the most effective form of combating infectious diseases.
