Under the new edition of the Erasmus+ programme, in addition to the existing mobility options, students and doctoral candidates can participate in:
- short-term study mobilities,
- BIPs – Blended Intensive Programmes,
- short-term traineeship mobilities.
If you have any questions, please contact the International Relations Office at Poznan University of Technology:

Guidelines for Short-Term Study Mobility
Students who are unable to participate in long-term mobility (e.g. due to their field of study or because they face barriers to participation in the programme) may opt for short-term study mobility.
- These mobilities last between 5 and 30 days.
- For first- and second-cycle students, short-term study mobility must include a compulsory virtual component (PLEASE NOTE: this component is optional for doctoral candidates).
- Students must earn at least 3 ECTS credits during the mobility.
Guidelines for Short-Term Study Mobility within Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs)
- Mobilities last between 5 and 30 days.
- The virtual component is compulsory for all participants (no minimum or maximum duration is specified).
- Participation in a BIP must also allow participants to earn at least 3 ECTS credits.
Guidelines for Short-Term Traineeship Mobility
- This option is available only to recent graduates and postdoctoral researchers.
- Recent graduates may participate in the Erasmus+ programme provided that they apply through the selection process at PUT while they still hold student status (all application documents must be submitted to the International Relations Office before their thesis defence).
- Physical mobility must last between 5 and 30 days.
- The virtual component is compulsory for recent graduates and optional for postdoctoral researchers (no minimum or maximum duration is specified).
- More information on traineeships is available HERE.
Funding Guidelines for Short-Term Mobility
Each participant selected for mobility (students, doctoral candidates and, in the case of study mobility, “recent graduates”*) is entitled to the following funding:
- Individual support towards living and travel costs of EUR 79 per day for the first 14 days of the activity and EUR 56 per day from day 15 to day 30. PLEASE NOTE: Poznan University of Technology funds 14 days of stay!
- A top-up to individual support for participants with fewer opportunities. Participants in short-term study mobility who meet the criteria for “participants with fewer opportunities” receive a top-up of EUR 100 for mobility lasting between 5 and 14 days, or EUR 150 for mobility lasting between 15 and 30 days. Participants with fewer opportunities are also entitled to a travel grant, the amount of which depends on the travel distance.
The definition of “participants with fewer opportunities” includes:
- Persons with disabilities: eligibility is assessed on the basis of an official certificate confirming the degree of disability.
- Persons from disadvantaged financial backgrounds: eligibility is assessed on the basis of a decision awarding a means-tested maintenance grant.
The document confirming your eligibility for this category must be provided when signing the grant agreement.
Funding is awarded for the actual duration of the participant’s stay abroad, as confirmed by a certificate of attendance or a separate document issued by the host institution after the mobility has ended. Additional funding is provided for 2 travel days (1 day before and 1 day after the mobility), or for the number of travel days allowed under the Green Travel guidelines.
No grant is awarded for the virtual component of the mobility.
Application and Selection Process for Short-Term Mobility
Applications to the programme are accepted on a rolling basis until the available funding is exhausted.
Applications are considered on a first-come, first-served basis. However, for courses with a limited number of places, selection will be based on the applicant’s grade point average.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED TO QUALIFY FOR MOBILITY:
- Acceptance Letter – a letter from the host university confirming acceptance and specifying the mobility dates.
- Application Form – signed by the applicant and the Faculty Erasmus+ Coordinator.
- GDPR Privacy Notice concerning the processing of personal data – must be signed.
- A certificate from the Dean’s Office or Doctoral School confirming student status and the grade point average for the previous semester (the minimum required average is 3.75).
- Written permission from the faculty authorities to undertake mobility during the academic year (first- and second-cycle students), or permission from the doctoral supervisor (doctoral candidates). First- and second-cycle students undertaking mobility during the summer holidays do not need this permission.
- Proof of foreign language proficiency (an official language certificate or a certificate from the Dean’s Office confirming the foreign language examination grade). This requirement does not apply to doctoral candidates.
Applications may be submitted to the International Relations Office at ul. Jana Pawła II 14, room 128, or by email to outgoing@put.poznan.pl. ONLY complete applications will be accepted.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Acceptance by the host university;
- Submission of a complete application no later than two weeks before the planned start of the mobility;
- Grade point average (minimum required: 3.75);
- Foreign language proficiency (at least B2 level).
Successful applicants will receive an acceptance email with instructions for signing the grant agreement. Selection decisions will be communicated within one week of submission.
Travel Support for Participants – KA131 2025 and KA131 2026 Projects Only
For mobilities funded under earlier projects, travel support cannot be awarded for all mobility types.
The travel grant is calculated as a lump sum based on the travel distance*. Distances are calculated using the European Commission’s distance calculator.
For travel distances of up to 499 km, participants should use low-emission means of transport.
Travel distance | Green Travel | Standard travel |
100 - 499 KM | 285,00 EUR | 211,00 EUR |
500 -1999 KM | 417,00 EUR | 309,00 EUR |
2000 - 2999 KM | 535,00 EUR | 395,00 EUR |
*For example, if a participant from Madrid (Spain) takes part in an activity in Rome (Italy), the applicant calculates the distance from Madrid to Rome (1,365.28 km) and then selects the corresponding distance band (i.e. between 500 and 1,999 km).
- Students using standard means of transport will receive additional support for a maximum of 2 travel days in total for the return journey, provided that travel takes place on days other than the first and last days of the study period.
- Participants using green means of transport receive support for:
- Up to 1,000 km: 2 travel days (1 day before and 1 day after the mobility);
- From 1,000 to 2,499 km: 4 travel days (2 days before and 2 days after the mobility);
- Over 2,500 km: 6 travel days (3 days before and 3 days after the mobility).
Please note: the amounts in the “Standard travel” and “Green Travel” columns cannot be combined.
Green Travel
Students, doctoral candidates and recent graduates may apply for a higher travel grant when using low-emission means of transport (“Green Travel”). To receive this additional funding, participants must complete a declaration outlining their planned travel arrangements and specifying the means of transport. The majority of the journey must be made using environmentally friendly means of transport.
The travel grant will be paid together with the other components of the Erasmus+ grant, based on the submitted declaration.
Additional funded travel days may be awarded for Green Travel:
- For distances of up to 999 km – 2 additional days;
- For distances of 1,000–2,499 km – 4 additional days;
- For distances of 2,500 km or more – 6 additional days.
| Travel distance | Green Travel | Standard travel |
100 - 499 KM | 285,00 EUR | 211,00 EUR |
500 - 1999 KM | 417,00 EUR | 309,00 EUR |
2000 - 2999 KM | 535,00 EUR | 395,00 EUR |
The distance will be calculated using the European Commission’s Distance Calculator. The point of departure is the PUT campus in Poznań, and the destination is the host university’s campus.
After returning, participants must provide evidence of their declared means of transport as follows:
- Participants travelling by public transport (e.g. bus, coach or train) must email scanned receipts/tickets confirming their journey to outgoing@put.poznan.pl or sign a declaration.
- Participants carpooling in a passenger car (at least 2 people) must submit a declaration using the prescribed template AFTER COMPLETING THEIR MOBILITY.
The date on the submitted receipt, ticket or declaration must fall outside the mobility period specified in the grant agreement. Travel must take place no more than one month (30 days) before the start of the mobility or one month (30 days) after its end. An exception applies to the first and last days of travel, which may coincide with the first and last days of the mobility, respectively.
If the journey is not documented as described above, the student, doctoral candidate or recent graduate will be required to repay the funding awarded under Green Travel.
Post-Mobility Requirements for Short-Term Mobility
Each participant must complete the post-mobility formalities separately with both the International Relations Office (IRO) and their faculty (Dean’s Office, Faculty Erasmus+ Coordinator).
Participants should first contact the IRO. The formalities must be completed within one week of the end of the physical mobility. If you have any difficulties completing this process, please contact outgoing@put.poznan.pl.
