The Institute of Automatic Control and Robotics at the Faculty of Control, Robotics, and Electrical Engineering offers a double degree diploma in Automation and Robotics, with a specialization in Smart Aerospace and Autonomous Systems (SAAS). Over the last decade, research in Smart Aerospace and Autonomous Systems has grown significantly, and the field is now sufficiently mature to offer specialized educational opportunities.
The SAAS program focuses on developing, modeling, simulating, and testing guidance, navigation, control, and decision systems for the autonomous operation of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), and other autonomous robotic systems. Key topics include autonomy levels, integration of control and decision systems, mission planning, trajectory generation and tracking, and handling limited communication scenarios.
The objective of the M.Sc. in SAAS is to provide an interdisciplinary curriculum that gives students a solid foundation in aerospace and terrestrial robotics, with a focus on smart and autonomous systems. The program emphasizes hands-on experience, projects, assignments, and a Master's thesis. The curriculum combines electrical, aeronautical, mechanical, control, computer science, and engineering disciplines. Upon completing the program, students will be equipped to design and implement reliable, economically viable, safe, and environmentally responsible smart aerospace and autonomous systems.
Learning Outcomes
