BUILDER Super Power

On October 17, 2024, the Builder Super Power Final Gala was held in Warsaw. The awards are presented by the monthly magazine “Builder” in various categories. 

 

Since the 4th edition of the event, academic teachers have also been recognized for their high level of education and exceptional commitment to the development of future architects and civil engineers. The following individuals from the Poznan University of Technology were honoured:

25th Anniversary of the Volantes Soni Choir of the Poznan University of Technology

The event aimed to honour the choir's quarter-century of activity, during which it has gained recognition both nationally and internationally. The concert gathered numerous guests, including representatives of the university authorities, the academic community, and supporters of the choir, becoming an important event in the cultural life of the Poznan University of Technology.

Success of the interdepartmental team in the EU-funded competition - Driving Urban Transitions!

The main objective of the project, headed by prof. Dominika PAZDER is to create a technically, procedurally, and socially innovative tool called EDITUA, which is to support the implementation of pro-ecological strategies for the regeneration of urban areas by transforming empty spaces in highly urbanized zones. The proposed instrument is to support activities in the field of revitalization and spatial and social renewal in accordance with the idea of ​​urban acupuncture and the paradigm of creating Ecological Districts of Innovation and Technology (EDIT).

EUNICE Alliance Games 2024

The EUNICE Alliance Games, the now traditional sports tournament of the EUNICE alliance, will take place from October 21 to 24, 2024. For the first time this year, Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France (UPHF) will be organizing the event in the Valenciennes region, north of France.

Prof. Wojciech Sumelka awarded the medal of Prof. Jan Szmelter

We are pleased to announce that the Vice-Rector for Science, Prof. Wojciech Sumelka, was awarded the Prof. Jan Szmelter Medal today.

This medal is awarded once every two years for special scientific achievements or overall scientific activity in the field of computer techniques in engineering and is awarded by the Medal Chapter. 

Medal for direct achievement - for developing models using fractional derivative calculus in application to selected problems of solid mechanics (and many others, e.g. modelling the development of epidemics, control theory). 

Meeting of International Cooperation Specialists in Ostrava

On 7-9 October, a meeting of international cooperation specialists was held, organized as part of the Baltic University Programme (BUP), of which the Poznan University of Technology is a member. The event took place in Ostrava, Czech Republic, gathering over 50 participants from various universities and institutions from the Baltic Sea region. Our university was represented by Olha Vakhrina, co-organizer of the BUP RESCUU conference in April this year at PUT. The meeting was hosted by the University of Ostrava.
