AWARDS FOR CREATING A SAFETY CULTURE
On December 9, 2021, in Warsaw, Ignacy Góra, the President of the Office of Rail Transport, presented the awards and distinctions during the 5th Safety Culture Gala. In the 5th edition of the competition, the award was given to, among others Faculty of Civil and Transport Engineering of the Poznan University of Technology and Jakub Holcman for the thesis "Improving the level of safety at railroad crossings with the use of radar occupancy system" carried out under the supervision of prof. Wojciech Sawczuk.
THE SCIENTIST OF THE FUTURE AWARD 2022
Prof. Agnieszka Ławrynowicz was nominated for the Scientist of the Future 2022 award in the category: Research of the Future for the implementation of the project entitled "Development of a Technology based on Artificial Intelligence for inferring SubsTitutable recipe Ingredients".
DELEGATION FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF KHARKIV VISITED THE PUT
The main topic of the meeting was the continuation of cooperation in educating Polish and Ukrainian students. Representatives of the Ukrainian State University of Railway Transport from Kharkiv: Vice-Rector for Research and Educational Activities - Vladyslav Panchenko, Director of the Educational and Research Center for International Cooperation and Education - Mikayil Garayev and the head of the International Relations Office - Olena Kravchenko arrived at the invitation of prof. Teofil Jesionowski, Rector of the Poznan University of Technology.
The PUT BEGINS COOPERATION WITH NORTHVOLT COMPANY
The Swedish company Northvolt is a supplier of lithium-ion cells and battery systems. The largest energy storage plant in Europe will be built in Gdansk, costing 200 million dollars. Today, prof. Wojciech Sumelka, the Vice-Rector for Research on behalf of prof. Teofil Jesionowski, Rector of the Poznan University of Technology, signed the cooperative agreement with Northvolt company. The ceremony took place during the inauguration of the construction of a new factory.
COMPETITION FOR THE BEST DIPLOMA THESIS RESOLVED
On Friday, November 30, 2021, the competition for the best diploma thesis defended in the 2020/2021 academic year, devoted to modern technologies in housing construction, was resolved. The organizer of the competition was HM Inwest S.A. The competition was held under the honorary patronage of the Rector of the Poznan University of Technology, prof. Teofil Jesionowski.
The aim was to increase public awareness in the field of construction with the use of prefabricated elements and to select interesting theses dealing with this subject in technical, financial and legal terms.
PROFESSOR JERZY STEFANOWSKI A NATIONAL CORRESPONDING MEMBER OF THE PAN
The selection was made by the General Assembly of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Prof.Stefanowski from January 1, 2022, will be a national corresponding member of the Division IV Engineering Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
PROFESSOR ELŻBIETA FRĄCKOWIAK A NATIONAL ORDINARY MEMBER OF PAN
The selection was made by the General Assembly of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
Prof. Elżbieta Frąckowiak, from January 1, 2022, will be a national ordinary member of Division IV Engineering Sciences. HUAWEI ICT ACADEMY AT THE POZNAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY THE BEST IN POLAND IN 2021
On November 25, 2021, during the Gala accompanying the annual Huawei Eco-connect conference organized by Huawei Enterprise Polska, the university received an award for the best Huawei ICT Academy in Poland.
Currently, 7 Huawei ICT Academies are operating in Poland. They were created, among others, by the Warsaw University of Technology, AGH University of Science and Technology, Leon Kozmiński Academy and the Lodz University of Technology.
HONORABLE DISTINCTION FOR THE GRADUATE OF THE FACULTY OF ARCHITECTURE IN "WOOD IN ARCHITECTURE" COMPETITION
