70th anniversary of the Faculty of Civil and Transport Engineering

On September 30, 2023, the Faculty of Civil and Transport Engineering celebrated its 70th anniversary.

The ceremonial celebrations gathered in Aula Magna included university authorities, employees and former faculty members, doctoral students, students, representatives of companies and all supporters of the Faculty of Civil and Transport Engineering.

The guests were welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty - prof. Jacek Pielecha, Rector, prof. Teofil Jesionowski.

Times Higher Education WUR – PUT among the best

The Poznan University of Technology was classified in this year's edition of the international Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024 (THE WUR 2024), obtaining the highest result in the Industry category: 10th place in the national ranking.

THE WUR 2024 list of the best universities in the world includes 1,904 universities, including 37 universities from Poland.

In the world classification, Poznan University of Technology maintained its position (1201-1500), achieving 15th place in the group of Polish universities.

The Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity - design, research and implementation activities.

The Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity established this year, apart from intensive acquisition of new projects, also conducts ongoing research and implementation activities.

One of the projects currently implemented at the Centre is the "ARPresence" project, financed by a grant from Meta (the parent company of Facebook), which announced an investment of $2.5 million in 2022 to support independent academic research in the use of metaverse concepts and technologies in Europe.

ALLIANCE GAMES 2023

The Alliance Games will be hosted at Poznan University of Technology and are an integral part of the EUNICE Weeks, which have been organized at all EUNICE European University partner universities since 2021. Alliance Games is a sport tournament between students from all partner universities from the EUNICE Alliance.

QS World University Rankings: Europe 2024

The results of the first edition of the QS World University Rankings: Europe 2024 have been published, which includes 688 European universities, including 33 universities from Poland.

The ranking analyzed European universities based on 12 indicators defined in various areas of university activity. In the ranking of individual indicators, the Poznań University of Technology achieved the highest position in the country in the "Employment Outcomes" category, taking 9th place in Poland, including 3rd place among Polish technical universities.

Professorial Appointments 2023

The President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, by his decision on 12 September 2023Qw, awarded the academic title of professor to 62 academics in Poland. From Poznan University of Technology, three researchers were awarded:

  • Anna JANUCHTA–SZOSTAK - professor of engineering and technical sciences Poznan University of Technology
  • Przemysław LITEWKA - professor of engineering and technical sciences Poznan University of Technology
  • Wojciech SUMELKA - professor of engineering and technical sciences Poznan University of Technology
