The success of our researchers in the NCN competition

The National Science Centre announced the list of winners of the MINIATURA 8 competition for single scientific activities (for applications submitted in March).

We are pleased to inform you that Sivasankar Palaniappan, PhD from the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Energy and Marcin Nowak, PhD from the Faculty of Engineering Management are among the winners of the eighth edition of the MINIATURA National Science Centre competition!

Scholarship for young researchers

This year's Competition for the Science Award of the City of Poznan and the Scholarship for young researchers from the Poznan scientific community has been resolved. The competition received 89 applications, including 72 for a Scholarship and 17 for a Scientific Award.

 

By the Chapter's decision, 12 scholarships for young researchers and one Scientific Award were awarded. Four persons from the Poznan University of Technology received scholarships for young researchers:

 

Laboratory of Coordinate Measurement Technology of prof. Jan CHAJDA

As part of the culmination of the National Network of Coordinate Metrology (NSMET) project, the Multiscale Laboratory of Coordinate Measurement Technology was opened on June 24, 2024. 

The guests were welcomed by the Rector of the Poznan University of Technology, prof. Teofil Jesionowski and Head of the Department of Metrology and Measurement Systems - prof. Michał Wieczorowski.

The competition for the City of Poznan awards has been resolved

The competition "Award of the City of Poznan for an outstanding doctoral thesis" and "Award of the City of Poznan for an outstanding master's thesis" have been announced.

The 20th edition of the Competition received 111 works, including 53 master's theses and 58 doctoral theses. By the decision of the Competition Jury, three equivalent financial prizes and four equivalent financial distinctions were awarded in the category of doctoral theses, while in the category of master's theses, three equivalent financial prizes and four equivalent financial distinctions were awarded.

AI Forum as one of the key events of the Economic Forum in Karpacz

The AI Forum will be one of the crucial events during this year's Economic Forum, which will begin in Karpacz in less than three months. The letter of intent was signed on June 18, 2024, by Krzysztof Gawkowski, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs, along with five rectors of leading Polish universities, and Zygmunt Berdychowski, Chairman of the Program Council of the Economic Forum. The event was attended by Marcin Biegluk, General Director of the RASP Press Portfolio.

Conference "Research Laboratories - Quality Systems in the European Union"

Prof. Grzegorz Ślaski, representing the Poznan University of Technology, participated in the 12th International Conference "Research Laboratories – Quality Systems in the European Union." The conference, under the patronage of the Rector of Poznan University of Technology, prof. Teofil Jesionowski, took place on June 13-15, 2024, in Swieradów-Zdroj. It was organized by the Gorzow Wielkopolski Branch of the Association of Polish Mechanical Engineers and Technicians (SIMP) and the Material Research Section of the Club of Polish Research Laboratories (POLLAB).

Competition for the ABB – PUT award on the podium!

On Friday, June 14, 2024, during a conference held at the ABB Corporate Technology Centre in Krakow, the 21st gala of winners of the ABB award competition for the best master's, engineering and doctoral theses were held.  It was the 21st edition of the competition, which promotes innovative solutions in areas such as automation, industrial diagnostics, power electronics, artificial intelligence and nanotechnology. The competition includes one main prize and two equivalent distinctions.
