Folk Art Festival 2024

On August 10, in the building of the Faculty of Architecture and the Faculty of Engineering Management of the Poznan University of Technology, the opening concert of the 17th Folk Art Festival took place. This year's edition of the festival is exceptional. The Folk Dance Ensemble of the Poznan University of Technology "Poligrodzianie" will celebrate, during the final concert of the Folk Art Festival the 50th season of activity.

KN PUT Powertrain during PolBoat Festival

On July 18-21, 2024, Gdynia once again became the capital of sailing and yachting, hosting one of the most important industry events in Poland - PolBoat Yachting Festival. This event, gaining prestige and popularity year by year, attracted both sailing enthusiasts and professionals from all over the world. This year's edition was special, offering participants not only a wide range of attractions and market novelties but also the opportunity to see premiere vessels in virtually every category and innovative technological solutions. 

Experts from Poznan University of Technology support the development of science

The Polish Research Infrastructure Map, which includes 70 advanced projects from various fields of science, has gained new advisors. Prof. Paweł Śniatała, is the chairman, and prof. Mikołaj Morzy, is responsible for the coordination and development of these projects. Their involvement will allow for the optimisation of the research infrastructure in Poland and create better conditions for conducting scientific research at the highest world level.

The Polish Research Infrastructure Map contains information on 70 research projects divided into 6 areas:

On Friday, July 19, 2024, Minister of Economic Development and Technology Krzysztof Paszyk visited the Kakolewo Campus of the Poznan University of Technology.

Five projects were implemented at the Kakolewo Campus: "Aerosphere. Airport of Things", "Space Robots Testing Centre", "Aerosphere 2.0 Aerospace Data Transmission (POLYITAN)", "Aerosphere 2.0 Satellite Objects Observation, Supervision and Tracking Station", "Imaging of the Earth's Surface"

Imagine Innovation cup 2024

Second edition of the EUNICE Imagine Innovation Cup - summary

The EUNICE Imagine Innovation Cup is a competition for the best start-up concept involving students from various EUNICE partner universities. This year we completed the second edition of this event. The first stage of the competition took place locally at each of the partner universities, with the final event taking place in beautiful Santander, Spain.

Digitalization in Mechanical Engineering – ICIE2024

As part of the "Digitalization in mechanical engineering" project, six scientists were able to actively participate in the 3rd International Scientific-Technical Conference ICIE'2024, which took place on June 26-28, 2024 in Lagoa, on the island of São Miguel in Portugal. During the conference, scientists from the Poznan University of Technology and Sumy State University presented the results of their research, which were published by Springer in the following articles:

Poznan University of Technology in QS World University Rankings Europe 2025

QS World University Rankings Europe is a regional ranking presenting the best universities in Europe. The ranking included 684 scientific institutions, including 32 universities from Poland.

In the national classification, the Poznan University of Technology maintained its position from a year ago and ranks 15th among Polish universities and 7th among Polish technical universities.

The ranking was based on 12 indicators, of which the highest importance is given to the university's reputation among academic staff (data from the annual QS Academic Reputation Survey).

Visit of the Korean delegation to the Poznan University of Technology

On July 12th, Poznan University of Technology hosted a Korean delegation, accompanied by Ph.D., D.Sc., Eng. Leszek Cwojdziński, Major General  Pilot. The Vice-Rector for Research, Professor Wojciech Sumelka, met with Billy Boo Hwan Lee, President of Hanwha Aerospace Europe, Min Won Park, President of Changwon National University, Jongkyu Park, Vice-Rector, and Haesung Jung, Head of the Educational Center. The delegation also included Myoung Rae Cho, Deputy Mayor of Changwon, along with Goo Jong Kang, Head of the Planning Policy Department.

PUT students in the Seeds for the Future finals

At the beginning of July, the finals of the "Seeds for the Future" competition took place in Rome. The aim of this competition is to promote students who have interesting ideas for solving important social problems using Huawei technology. 145 students from 23 European countries took part in the final, including 10 students from Poland (3 from our university), whose applications in the recruitment process stood out among the remaining several hundred candidates. The students were divided into teams of several people.
