Seminar as Part of the Weimar Excellence Program

On May 26–27, a seminar was held at Poznan University of Technology as part of the Weimar Excellence Initiative 2024.

The event focused on flexible microstructures and materials tailored to specific needs in biomedical engineering and technology. The Weimar Excellence Initiative 2024 is a joint effort between Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France (France), BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg (Germany), and Poznan University of Technology (Poland), with support from the French Embassy in Germany.

Honorary Doctorate for Professor Jerzy Andrzej Sładek

The Academic Senate of Poznan University of Technology, after reviewing the opinions of the Senates of Lublin University of Technology, Kielce University of Technology, and Warsaw University of Technology, conferred the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of PUT on Professor Jerzy Andrzej Sładek.

Professor Sładek, a leading expert in coordinate metrology in the field of mechanical engineering, became the 47th person to receive this prestigious title in the university’s over 100-year history.

Students Succeed in Huawei ICT Competition 2024–2025

We are pleased to announce another great achievement by our students. This time, in the regional stage of the Huawei ICT Competition 2024–2025, we had the largest number of award-winning participants from a single country and a single university in Europe. No other European university came close to matching our performance in terms of quality.

A total of 30 students from various programmes (primarily Telecommunications, but also Artificial Intelligence and Civil Engineering) were among the winners.

Poznan University of Technology among the Beneficiaries of the SPINAKER Program

The National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) has announced the results of the SPINAKER Program (2024 edition), with Poznan University of Technology (PUT) among the beneficiaries.

The SPINAKER Program enables the creation of new or the adaptation of existing Intensive International Education Programs (IMPKs), such as summer or winter schools, specialist courses, training sessions, study visits, or the engagement of professors from abroad. Activities can be conducted in on-site, online, or hybrid formats.

Two MINIATURA 9 NCN Grants Awarded

The National Science Centre (NCN) has announced the results of the 9th edition of the MINIATURA competition, which funds preliminary research, queries, or scientific trips lasting up to 12 months.

 

Among the 54 laureates, two researchers from Poznan University of Technology have been awarded:

Assoc. Prof. Katarzyna Ratajczak from the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Energy
