On October 2, 2024, the first meeting of the Academic Senate of the Poznan University of Technology was held.

During the meeting, among others, permanent Senate Committees, disciplinary committees, and the Chapter of the Medal "For Outstanding Services to the Poznan University of Technology" were established. Representatives were also elected to the Council of the Foundation for the Development of the Poznan University of Technology, the Council of the Poznan Foundation of Scientific Libraries, and the Council of Users of the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Centre.

On September 22-26, 2024, the 4th International Conference Green Technology for Sustainable Environment 2024 (GTSE24) took place in the buildings of the Poznan University of Technology. After the successes of the previous editions of the GTSE conferences in Hanoi (Vietnam, 2017), Ho Chi Min City (Vietnam, 2019) and Taipei (Taiwan, 2022), the event was held for the first time in Europe.

Heartfelt thanks go to all participants of this year's Night of Scientists, thanks to whom the event turned out to be a success in terms of attendance, gathering a wide group of science enthusiasts, from the youngest to adults.

Thanks to the involvement of scientists, students from scientific clubs and organizers from the Development Office, it was possible to create a unique atmosphere of experiments, lectures and workshops. We would also like to thank parents and teachers who arouse scientific curiosity in the youngest!

On September 30, this year, at the initiative of the Equality Department, with the help of students from OS PROgressio PROmotio and the Office of Information and Promotion, we showed newly admitted students around the Warta Campus.

This year, the interest in the event was huge, with about 200 people at the meeting point!

We introduced the youth to the university infrastructure and answered their questions.

The time of studies is definitely a new stage in every young person's life - we hope we were helpful.

The 2nd Conference "European Universities - Alliances of the Future" was held on 4-5 September 2024 in Krakow. The event was organised by the Foundation for the Development of the Education System (FRSE). The conference was attended by representatives of universities from all over Europe, including the Poznan University of Technology, which acts as the coordinator of the EUNICE European University.

The University of Mons (UMONS) in Belgium hosted the next General Assembly of the EUNICE AISBL Association on September 19 and 20, 2024. The event was attended by rectors, presidents, academic and administrative staff, as well as students from the ten partner universities of EUNICE.

On behalf of the Centre of Languages and Communication, we invite all Erasmus students to participate in classes on European business culture with elements of Polish language and culture.

The classes are a great opportunity to familiarize students with business etiquette and the basics of Polish language, which allows a better understanding of Poles and a more comfortable stay in Poznan.

We are pleased to announce that two doctoral students from the Faculty of Chemical Technology at the Poznan University of Technology – Aleksandra Makiej and Adam Grzywaczyk – won a prestigious award at the international EU TalentOn 2024 competition, which took place in Katowice from September 9–12, 2024.

One of EUNICE's main objectives is to strengthen support for pedagogical excellence in its member universities by creating a pedagogical support unit and a platform for achieving pedagogical improvement. To this end, a set of criteria for pedagogical excellence is being developed and, at the same time, a pedagogical training calendar is being defined for the 2024/2025 academic year, with the aim of increasing teachers' awareness of opportunities to develop their pedagogical skills through EUNICE or other service providers.

The EAIE 2024 Conference, which took place from 17 to 20 September at the MEETT exhibition centre in Toulouse, made lasting history in the international higher education community. The event brought together academic leaders, experts and institutions worldwide, providing a platform for exchanging knowledge, experience and inspiration.
