PP w U.S. News Best Global Universities 2024-2025

In the most recent edition of the U.S. News Best Global Universities ranking, 2,250 top universities from around the world were selected based on indicators grouped into three categories: global and regional academic reputation, bibliometric indicators from the Web of Science database (Clarivate), and scientific excellence. In the national classification, the Poznan University of Technology claimed the 21st spot, including the 6th place in the category of Polish technical universities.

PUT is one of the leading Polish universities in the field of Erasmus+ mobility

In June, the National Agency for Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps published the results of a study on academic mobility under the completed Erasmus+ KA 131 2020 project (mobility with program countries within the EU).

The Poznan University of Technology is at the top of the ranking in terms of the number of participants. Our university took 7th place in Poland taking into account the number of university employees going abroad - a total of 186 trips were carried out for training and teaching purposes.

Digitalization in Mechanical Engineering – DSMIE2024

The project "Digitalization in Mechanical Engineering" is financed by the National Agency for Academic Exchange and implemented at the Institute of Material Technology at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. The project supports scientific research carried out by Poznan University of Technology employees in cooperation with the Faculty of Technical Systems and Energy Efficient Technologies, Sumy State University (Ukraine).

 

Communication Prize 2024 for Poznan University of Technology

On July 2 in Helsinki, the results of the competition announced by CAETS for the best short (up to 5 minutes) video in English presenting modern engineering technologies to a wide audience in terms of their benefits for the economy and society took place.

The Polish Academy of Engineering took part in the competition for the first time. From January 1, 2024, PAE is again a full member of this international organisation. The competition in Poland was organised under the patronage and in cooperation with the Conference of Rectors of Polish Technical Universities.

Poznan 2024 World Boccia Challenger

The prestigious "Poznan 2024 World Boccia Challenger" tournament took place at the Poznan University of Technology Sports Centre.

The event was organized by the Polish Boccia Association in cooperation with World Boccia - the organization responsible for managing this sport on behalf of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and the Poznan University of Technology. The honorary patrons of the tournament were the President of the Polish Paralympic Committee and the Rector of the Poznan University of Technology.

Farewell Gala for Erasmus+ Students

On June 21, 2024, the Farewell Gala was held for Erasmus+ students who completed their mobility at the Poznan University of Technology. During this unique ceremony, their time spent in Poland was not only summarized but their outstanding achievements and involvement in academic and social life were also recognized.

 

Many prestigious awards were presented at the Gala, including the best Erasmus student, the best traveller and other outstanding personalities who significantly contributed to the atmosphere of the university and the local community.

Scientific Award of the City of Poznan for PUT Rector

On June 29, a ceremonial session of the city council was held in the City Hall. 

During the event, the Statuette and the title of Honorary Citizen, as well as the titles of Meritorious People for the City of Poznan, as well as scientific, artistic and sports awards were presented.

EU announces new European Universities Alliances

The European Commission has selected 14 new European University Alliances under the Erasmus+ programme in the latest call for proposals for this type of funding. This brings the total number of alliances to 64, meeting the European University Strategy's target of at least 60 alliances by mid-2024. These 64 European University Alliances include more than 560 higher education institutions of all types in all regions of Europe.

4th conference "Hydrogen Railway - Hydrogen4Rail Future of Transport"

We transport passengers using various energy carriers. From steam locomotives to diesel-powered vehicles to electric ones. Hydrogen is another opening. You should not be afraid of it, but respect it - said Marek Nitkowski, President of the Management Board of Koleje Wielkopolskie during the 4th conference "Hydrogen Railway - Hydrogen4Rail Future of Transport". The meeting of experts from the rail transport and alternative fuels industry was held on June 19-21 in Poznan.
