Important Changes in the Admission Process – New Requirements under the Act of 4 April 2025

Dear Candidates,

Following the publication in the Journal of Laws on 12 May 2025 of the Act of 4 April 2025 amending certain acts to eliminate irregularities in the visa system of the Republic of Poland (Journal of Laws, item 622), it is necessary to adjust the current admission procedures to the new legal regulations.

Accordingly, the following changes will apply to candidates applying for admission for the 2025/2026 academic year:

  • do not hold an International Baccalaureate (IB) or an European Baccalaureate (EB),
  • do not hold a certificate issued abroad by a school or educational institution recognized by the country in which it operates and covered by an international agreement (e.g. Ukraine’s свідоцтво про здобуття повної загальної середньої освіти or China’s Gaozhong Graduation Certificate 高中毕业证书)

will be required to obtain a written statement regarding the certificate issued by the Director of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA).

The application must be submitted electronically via the SYRENA system (submit your application: https://nawa.gov.pl/uznawalnosc/wydawanie-informacji-o-zagranicznych-dyplomach/swiadectwo-szkoly-sredniej), starting from 1 July 2025.

Required documents:

  • High school certificate, transcript of grades, and their translations.

  • Legalisation of documents will not be required.

  • If the candidate holds a decision from the educational superintendent recognizing the certificate, obtaining the NAWA statement will not be necessary.

  • A candidate may be conditionally qualified for studies without these documents; however, lacking either the superintendent’s decision or the NAWA statement will prevent formal admission.

2. Entrance Exams – Who Must Take Them?

A. Architecture or Interior Architecture (Bachelor's and Master's level)

B. Bachelor’s Degree – Programs other than Architecture or Interior Architecture – candidates holding documents issued:

  • outside the EU, EEA, EFTA, OECD educational systems,

  • The exam will assess the knowledge required to undertake technical studies.

  • Detailed exam guidelines and format will be published soon on the university’s official website.

  • Information about the requirement to take the entrance exam will also be made available in the admission system.

  • Failure to obtain a positive result will disqualify the candidate from further admission procedures.

C. Master’s Degree – Programs other than Architecture

Candidates will be required to take an online entrance exam, except for the following programs:

(for which the entrance exam will be held on-site)
